pro comp 7089 hub caps chipped when tire rotation is that normal

on my pro comps 7089 my hub caps chipped when i got a tire rotation is that normal?

 

How bad is it?

 

just chips on the hub caps ! just wondering if this has happened to others.....

 

20% of the paint on each cap is gone Crome spots

 

I'd say over 50% of the paint is scrapped off the sleeves that go over the hub with my 7089's.

 

My 7089's do the same the center caps stay stuck on the hub when I rotate the tires. You just have to be super careful when sliding the wheel over the cap.

 

Same thing happened with mine. I plan on buying new ones and using a thin coat of scotch tape over them when I take off the wheel.

 

^ I thought about using some sort of clear tape as well, but I'm not so sure it will hold up over time with metal on metal rubbing while taking off the wheel. It would be hard not to touch it. Especially if you rotate every 5 000 miles, that gets to be a lot. Painting and scotch taping the original sleeves would probably be cheaper and easier than ordering new ones, especially if the tape doesn't work out.

 

Same thing happens to mine. The center caps are garbage and they don't fit the hub properly.
