Will 5" Backspacing Cause Rubbing Issues

Okay, I have a 2011 TRD Off Road with Bilstein 5100s set to 2.5 in the front and a 1" block in the rear. I'm about to pull the trigger on some 17" Ion 174s and BFG A/T KO 275/70R17, but I'm worried that because of the 5" backspacing on the Ions I'll have rubbing issues.

Here's the question: will having wheels with 5" of backspacing cause rubbing with my current setup?

How wide are the wheels? The wider they are the more they will pull the tire away from the UCA.

I.E. a 8" wide wheel with 4.5" backspacing, and a 9" wide wheel with 5" backspacing will have the inner tread of the tire at the same distance from the uca.

I think you are going to be fine because some claim they have fit 275's on the stock wheels, which have 5.5" BS. And the guys with rockstars (9" wide, 5" bs) don't have any more rubbing problems than some of the 4.5" BS guys.

 

Great, thanks! The wheels are 9" wide. What I don't want is the tires sticking too far outside of the fenders, which is why I'm going with the 275.
