Whoa, that is similar. I want to like the FJ. I feel the fully boxed frame and the fact it's assembled in Japan is a plus. It is built solid. Thought about it for a while before I bought another Tacoma, my '11. With the FJ I can't get over the back seat access and the interior visibility for the passengers(and driver for that matter) in the back seat. I have kids. And you can't roll down the back windows. Why don't they make a four door version?
Also i wish the side windows could at least fit a happy meal through them at the drive thru. I think they went after that design cue that is like the Hummer making visibility suffer for looks. But I want to like the FJ.... The FJ has more HP but I bet the Tacoma will have that motor soon(2012-13?). Also I would take a serious look at the 2012 Jeep Rubicon if I was gonna go the suv route. That Pentastar v6 is gonna make a HUGE difference in that vehicle.

I need useful seat in the back for my children... they are growing so fast and my 13 year old just does not fit in the puny seats in the back... so Tacoma for us.

I about LMAO too, my dad first saw the Pontiac Atzec when it came out (and he's 70) and said "I want to meet the man who'd buy one of those, I could sell him anything".
