No problem. I wanted to give you a focal range more than brand for the lens. A TC is "tela converter" and it effectively multiplies the focal length of a lens. A lens is always better than a TC but a TC allows you to carry a couple of lenses with a huge focal range because of the TC. So a 24-105 becomes 36-157 (roughly). it's like having two lenses.

I'm starting to like the idea of teh sigma 17-70mm f2.8, or the canon 18-135mm. both are in my price range and would cover what I want to shoot.

18-135 would be nice. That wide angle can be used in interesting ways.

Any other thoughts on the Sigma 17-70mm+Canon 50mm 1.8 for my trip?

So I'm leaving next week. I picked up the 50 1.8 btw
So I'm thinking Ill take my 18-55mm, 50mm and leave the 55-250. I just dont use it that much.

My other option is to pick up the Tamron 10-24mm. It's about the only WA zoom in my budget, It has a $50 rebate going on now. I would really like a WA and think it would get a lot of use. I know there are a lot of bad reviews on the net about it, and Ken Rockwell bashed it, but there are also plenty of good ones.

    Anyone have any experience?
