Well this dealer offered me $18,500 trade in! The FJ is still $35,000 though! Gonna sleep on it... And drink a damn beer on it! Lol

A $36,000 2011 anything should be less than $700 under sticker in Sept of 2011. That's less than 2% under sticker. 2012s will be here before you know it.

Figure out where you want to be, and be prepared to give in a bit. Offer to sign the papers today at $33,500 plus your $18,500 trade-in and see what he says. You should be able to end up under $34K easily.

Also, remember you're in the power position. You have a nice reliable truck - HE needs the sale. It'd be different if you limped in on 3 wheels and were begging for financing.

I'm still on the fence about this. I'm afraid I'll miss having a bed to throw stuff in.(like a ladder)

Get a roof rack. Bajarack's utility rack is a good option

Yea that would work. The TT edition has a roof rack but then I would have to strap it down an stuff. I like just throwing stuff in the bed and hittin the road!

You should totally do this. I swapped my '10 Tacoma with my dad's '08 Tacoma and then traded the '08 in for a 2011 new Trails Teams FJ. The army green and the black TRD wheels, factory sliders, and roof rack were all just too badass to deny. BTW they wanted 37,000 for this FJ. I talked them down to 33,500 and they gave me 16,000 trade in for the '08 Tacoma Prerunner with 56,000 miles on it (had been wrecked once and had the hood and front bumper replaced).
