I've had this same "out of round" problem with bfg all-terrains before. Steering wheel shakes like a madman.

They replaced some of my lug nuts temporarily. They used some new nut that will center the wheel to the hub.
I don't know the difference between static and dynamic balances.
They called me this morning to ask how the drive went to work. I told them that there was little shaking at 55mph and it feels like the alignment is off now. It moves to the right just a bit. He went on to mention that he would contact his rep about replacing a rim.

I'm sorry, but you are getting the run around. I tried to find the hub bore specs on your wheels last but was unsuccessful. I can guarantee that a lot of your problems will be eliminated with some adapter rings. Once the hub bore is obtained, you can buy a set of rings from a place like this: or

A quality tire/wheel place should be able to help you out if you go in there or call them and tell them you are in search of centering rings. You'll probably have to take your business elsewhere since the place you're dealing with now didn't set you up with them from the beginning.

Very True. I really appreciate all the info you've given me thus far. I might have to, BUT with money being tight I can't pass up a free balance and rotation. Got a new tire out of it and maybe a rim or a new set of 4 if they don't have them anymore. I've got to play the hand I've been dealt right now. Perhaps I might take the business else where, but they do work with me and its appreciated far more than they could understand. You can rest assured that the next place I go to will have these items on hand as I will have this thread printed out in my hand if they want the business.

You do have a good point and it's very understandable. Maybe when you go back in there, you can talk to them about the centering rings and see if they might consider going that route. The best of luck to you.

Here is something you might be able to bring in as an explanation to the purpose. This is from a reputable company like TireRack.com:

The discussion of hub centric is started in the section, "Before going on the track".
