This is NOT my pic. How do you remove the sunglass holder 'door' and the garage door opener cover ? I think that a lot of low current switches and LEDs could fit there and feed serial data down under the dash with only 4 small wires (+12vdc, gnd ,clock and data). Similar to a parallel to serial shift register. Under the dash, data could be recovered and feed relays or power FETs to circuits. The whole purpose is to use low current (small) switches and run really small gauge wire up top. Could also use a rotary encoder with a push button to turn on and off a unlimited number of circuits and have LEDs as 'ON' indicators. This may sound odd to non electrical guys, but may spark some creative thoughts.

1 screw behind the sunglass cover, then near the windshield, pull down, as there ar 2 clips holding it in.

But, in order to remove the two doors from the console, without risk of breaking the door "nubs", you need to heat the tabs holding the bins behind the doors, this will allow the bins to be removed and then the doors can be removed from the bins.

This is if you really do want to remove the doors from the console. It is more work but will make drilling/cutting out the holes easier.
