I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, 4 cylinder, 5 speed. Having trouble keeping it in 5th gear. Keeps popping out. I can easliy put it back in, but it doesn't stay. All other gears are fine. Has anyone else run across this problem?

Hi All. On my '04 with 2.4L, the trans shifts fine into 1st, 2nd, 5th, and Reverse, but the shift lever doesn't seem to go as "deep" into 3rd and 4th, and occasionally pops out of 4th. Do you think it could be rubber shift lever seat that Waverly mentions, or is it something like a shaft/bearings/synchros in the trans?
    Thanks.
    Ken
