4x4 problems

    i completely agree with you. that is what i also do. what i meant was that if, for example, and i guess the only example, the pavement is snowy/icy and you feel you need 4x4 then it wont hurt having it engaged in a turn. unless its sharp then you will probably oversteer and possibly cause an accident.

    Manual says to do just that 10 miles every month. Of course make sure to pop it into 2h before hitting any corners or parking.

    I was having issues with my 02 last night as well. I engaged 4x for a minutes just to cycle the fluids. I drove in a straight line for about 20 meters, and my drive line sounded horrible. There was a constant chirping in the tires, and a strange growling noise in the drivetrain. I thought about the dry pavement thing, but to my knowledge, this was only a factor when you are turning, as you stated above. After the fluids ran for about 25 minutes, I backed the truck in reverse about 6 meters, and the light turned off for the 4x. I was slightly concerned about the 4x not disengaging, but more concerned with the noises in the drive train. Any thoughts?
