I've had my plate off for almost a year here in COS and haven't had a problem yet. But if a cop decides to complain I have dealer license plate magnets attached to the plate and it sits under the passenger seat. If they want it on I'll just pull it out from under the seat and stick it to the grill craft, then take it back off when I get home until the next cop complains.

    Incorrect, sir.

If the manufacturer, Toyota in this case, makes a front license plate bracket you must display the front plate. If you didn't get the bracket at the time of purchase, oh well. We all know Toyota made a front license plate bracket for the Tacoma.

I didn't get a bracket, but the holes were already drilled in the bumper. I just screwed the plate directly to the bumper w/o the bracket. As long as it is displayed, you've satisfied the statute.

I wouldn't think so, but I remember years ago of someone getting stopped out of state for window tint and was given the choice to peel it off or get fined. It was legal here and they were passing through. Tint was illegle in the state they were in, cant remember what state it was though. But who knows, people will say anything. Cant say this for a fact, cant even remember who it was.

Front plates are required in Washington, but Tacoma's just look so much cleaner without them, so I roll without...

X2>>>hey Christine (Bitch)...how much $$$ would the state of WA save (every penny counts since your in the red) by not requiring and producing front plates for every vehicle registered here...there only, and I mean only use, is for those who cross the border into BC/AB Canada, where Canadian customs frowns on those who do not run with front plates, albeit their cameras take a front and rear shot of every vehicle prior to getting to the customs booth...I refuse to run with a front plate here, I've never been stopped, and if I am I will respectfully tell the officer he's certainly got something better to do with his "valuable" time...:annoyed:

Just thought I'd throw this out there since this thread has already been bumped.

    Alberta doesn't issue front plates.
