Look at the fine print and usually these extended warranties are underwritten by an insurance company. The extended warranty you paid was more like "repair insurance". i.e. the dealer didn't expect the truck to be defect-free, they were simply betting on you incurring less than $2000 worth of repairs within the warranty period. The $50 deductible is to discourage you from harassing them on little stuff like squeaks and rattles. It's all a game.
