Oops my mistake, it was $360 before taxes, $385 is what I paid OTD. Still crazy cheap & is the reason why I couldn't pass that up. Back then the sale price was $449. I think now a days they go for $499 on sale.

I agree, LMS is a great place to buy anything. Their prices are good, they ship fast, & they offer good help. They have a new line of mini latehs too.

They're about 45 mins away from me so I went there once to pick up a backplate that I used to make the adapter for the 5" Bison 6-jaw. They're located in a shop size unit but they have a lot of stuff in stock. Great peoples.

I was lucky & got the 5" 6-jaw for just under $400 & made my own adapter (if anyone is interested in those pics I can share). But retail it costs over $1K & not many people carry it. MSC & Enco don't carry it which means no discount on it during their sales. The 6.25" 6-jaw I bought new though.

Great work on your CNC conversion. I've always wanted to do something like that. I planned to do it to the 8X14 but I gave it to my little brother. Maybe I still can one day.

There's a guy on CNCZONE that did an absolutely beautiful conversion on a HF 8x lathe LINK HERE (I just linked to the page with the completed pics).

This guy's conversion made me wish I had an 8x, but again, no room for it.
If you're at all interested some day in doing a 7x conversion like mine (pretty much as cheap as it gets) I'd be glad to share part numbers and DWG files. Actually I posted them on my BUILD THREAD there.
