    Maybe it's the zip code?

On CarMax is the price online the OTD price?

Negative. It just shows the cash price of the vehicle.

    That sucks :(

I went and looked at a CPO 2010 Barcelona Red DCSB TRD PreRunner with 15k miles, bed cover, bedrug, step bars, and a K&N CAI for $24,995. My dad and I may go back tomorrow and see if they will take $25k OTD. Good Deal?

CarMax has a $149 processing fee. Add sales tax and title/registration for your state to get OTD pricing.

Carmax has a calculator that will tell you what the fees will be.

CarMax will not negotiate on used cars. I have gotten them to take off the Processing Fee ($149) before, but that is it.

For about $1,000-$1,500 more, you could get a new one.

It isn't at CarMax, it's at the local Toyota Dealer. The one at CarMax was a new one. Someone posted a link last night.

    My fault.

If it's at a local Toyota dealership then I would negotiate the hell out of it. $25,000 OTD is decent - especially with it being Certified.

I'm not sure what your money situation is, but be sure to weigh the pros and cons of saving a few grand and going used, or spending a little more and going brand new. I have to do this every time I buy a new car/truck...

Why buy used when you can get new for little or no more? I'd take the overstock and carmax printouts to different dealers until you can get one to negotiate.

It worked for me on more than one occasion...

I bought my brand new (then) 2007 Tacoma TRD 4x4 OR for 26,000 in Utah using carmax as the comparison price. Had to go to three dealers to get one to work with me, and they beat carmax by a couple hundred bucks.

LOL-One of the dealers told me the only way I'd get a truck for 26k was to open my own dealership and sell a truck to myself. I told him at a minimum, I could drive to the new carmax dealership (long drive from utah to Milwaukee). My favorite part was driving my new truck to that dealership to show them my purchase, and let them know I'd be servicing my truck at the dealer that was willing to work with me on a price.

Did you show them the price that CarMax has on their site or the price broke down with the tag/tax/title?

Yes I showed them. They charged me the same fee as Carmax ($149) as well as the Utah charges for tag/tax/title on top of the purchase price. I would have paid the exact same price for fees at carmax.

If your max budget is 25K, I don't think you'll be able to get new. I wasn't planning on spending 26+tax, etc, but after I saw the small gap between used and new, I added a year to my loan and purchased new.

Just paid my truck off last month. :)
