heavy duty snow/at tire on 17in stock rims

Sorry if this has been discusssed before. I just finished reading most of the duratrac thread and the bfg vs duratrac thread, but still have some questions.

I live in BC, do a lot of logging road driving, but nothing super gnarly. In the winter I'll often have my snowmobile in the bed on these same roads as well as highway driving on snow/ice in the winter.

Currently have the stock tires on the 17inch rims. I don't plan on lifting my truck and don't want to change out my rims. Really don't care about how my truck looks, just want a good quality tire that won't land me in a ditch.

A friend has Duratracs on his titan, driving the same roads as me. He can't say enough good things about them. He used to have BFG's but likes the duratracs a lot more.

One poster in the Duratrac thread said he couldn't get the duratracs to fit his tacoma with 17in stock rims, but it seems like others have? can anyone confirm or deny that that the 265/70/r17 fits on their 17inch stock tacoma rims without excessive rubbing or trimming needed?

Anyone else have other tire suggestions? the general grabber a/t looks interesting, but not sure about snow/ice performance.

 

if you stay with the stock size in any tire you buy you should not rub on a thing.tires manufactures differ by a little bit but not enough to rub.

 

Should be fine. My Duratracs have performed great in the snow. I have 265/75/16's. Going up slightly in size they just rubbed a hair on the front mud flaps which I just removed. So if you're staying same size, should be good to go.

 

The problem is stock size is 265/65-17 and the closest the duratrac comes in is 265/70-17.

I'm planning on driving to the US to buy them, so don't want to get down there and find they don't fit after the fact.
