2 questions: damage to bumper, sound when first driving

I bought my second Tacoma in 11 years last month (my first was given to my parents): 2011 SR5, access cab, 2.7L, 4x4. I've got two questions - one thanks to a mishap earlier this week.

- Drove part of the front bumper over a guardrail in a parking lot without realizing it - one of the "benefits" of having the higher clearance. I didn't realize it until backing up and heard a slight scrape. There are scratches underneath (no surprises there); the four plastic loops underneath are separated from the screws (reattached one, but they don't appear to offer much); the gap between where the bumper attaches to the body on the passenger side near the headlight is just ever-so-slightly wider but probably unnoticeable to someone who doesn't know I scraped the bumper; and there's a 6" crack along a seam underneath which isn't visible without looking under the bumper - it looks fairly stable. Do I live with it and replace it after the winter if the crack grows and/or there's another crack? I've read the plastic bumpers are notorious for cracks. Do I replace now with a bumper without the gaping holes for fog lights (annoying, and provided I can find one), which I wouldn't need? Or, suck it up to not paying close attention to the guard rail? If it eventually should be replaced, what would the estimated cost be?

- Second question: I'm partly deaf so I might be paying closer attention to sounds than I need to be. Each time I start the truck and drive it 10-15 feet forward, I hear a click-click or tick-tick. It doesn't happen until after I take my foot off the brake. If I drive for 10+ feet after starting (or starting, backing up, then going forward) with the foot on the brake, it will make the sound very shortly after taking the foot off the brake. Is this normal, considering it's less than 2 months old? Is it the brakes doing a check? It only happens after starting as above - not when stopping and going or any other time. Any ideas? I haven't driven anyone else's new-model Tacoma so see.

1. I wouldn't fix the damage if its not affecting anything and it cannot be seen. Why spend the money now or claim on your insurance? I'd wait until something more drastic happens.

2. Wondering how you can drive for 10+ feet with the foot ON the brake...

 

Let me re-phrase that! If I go forward, it'll make the sound within about 10 ft or less. I touched the brake lightly with my foot to see if it would make the same sound when going forward- it won't unless I lift the foot off. Otherwise, I wouldn't be putting my foot on the brake!
