Transmission swap

I am changing the transmission in my 2002 Tacoma I have tracked down a sweet 2003 transmission but it has no detent cable where mine has one I'm wondering if I can just swap the detent cable over to the 2003 does anybody know if this will work?

 

you mean the kickdown cable? its electronic in the 03-04's

 

Yeah could I drop the valve body and swap the electronic part for the manual one in my transmission to make it compatible with my truck

 

I want to say no... But I couldn't tell you 100% your on the right track with swapping the VB, if it was to work, that would be how you'd do it.. sorry I can't give you a definite answer!

There is a company called level ten that will give you a bullet proof transmission.. at an appropriate price lol
