Off road lights

I am having a tube bumper build by avid offroad with two light tabs and light hoop. This bumper will eliminate my stock fogs and I am looking to add two off road lights and wire them to stock fog light harness so I can switch them on and off with my stock fog light switch. My questions are;

- will the stock fog ligh harness be able to handle off road lights? I looked and it has 15amp fuse...

- which off road lights to buy? I am not looking to spend much maybe $50?

Gimme some input!

 

A pair of 65W bulbs is the limit of a 15A circuit, but to be honest, you not going to get much of an off road light for $50, unless you can find a good deal on used ones.

 

HID lights are 35 watts (same as the Toyota halogen fogs) but illuminate like 150 watts of halogen. The most popular ready to use HID driving lamps (Euro beams) are the Kragen units... about $125 each... But, there are deals out there. You can find some cheap lamps and convert them to HID... I suggest not exceeding 5,000ºK color for the most usable and brightest light.

There is a lighting forum here on TW... I have posted lots of photos of my Kragens and my Hellas (with 100 watt halogen and various color HID bulbs in them).

I used these and wired them directly to the stock harness/fuse. I have had no problem, and they are bright. Nothing like my LF's, but will do for you application.

 

Honestly, for 50 bucks get some hella 500s

OK $50 was just ball park number... I have NO clue what decent lights cost, just give me some ideas of lights which would work with the stock fog harness...

 

I have hella 700s wired to a factory fog light switch. I used the wiring that came with the lights and just soldered it to the switch.
