gettin ready to get me a taco!
The day I got my drivers license was the day I got my first car. It is a little POs 96 Ford Ranger, 2wd, 4cyl, 5 speed. I know, I know, worst investment ever as I live in 4wd country and the fact that it is a Ranger doesn't help. I have wanted to upgrade for a long time but have found no reason too as my truck was still running...until about two weeks ago. I definately cracked a cylinder head and refuse to pay for a repair that cost more than the damn truck so I figure it is finally time to upgrade. Right now my truck still runs but its scary to drive. Right now, it takes me to my potential Tacoma buys. I am looking for something under $10,000 but that runs well. I have found one that I really like; 2000 Tacoma, 6cyl, 5speed, trd offroad with a 2.5" lift for $6500. I have seen many pictures and it looks great but I still have yet to go check it out. Even though it has only had one owner and they have toyota scheduled maitenence on the thing since they got it, it still is around 230,000miles. The decision will come once I actually go see it and take it for a spin.

I think a Tacoma would do me good as they get better gas milage than most trucks, they are durable and most of all dependable. Another plus is that the mod potential is huge and I love to make things my own.

I am new to this whole forum thing but so far I'm loving learning about what I can do to a Tacoma once I become the proud owner of one.

Please let me know if yall have any advice for me!

    Thanks!
