SO I am looking for a decent answer for my set up. I have the opportunity to get an older ARB with a Warn 8000 winch for a good price. tomorrow. ( and btw of course I searched and researched, found some great info, but I still would like an opinion on my specific setup... and barring unforseen wierdness or quality issues, I am buying this bumper tomorrow.) and I rarely ask questions... cause they have always been asked 500x already....

Its pretty clear 886s are the designated spring for ARB bumper with a steel cable winch but.....

Will my 885s do until the far off day when I can swap out for 886s....???
(being as the wifey is pretty incredulous of this purchase already....and I need new skis, boots, bindings for ski patrol, and food, electricity, and mortgage $$$....)all the usual real life stuff....

So this is my basic setup for clarity: OME 885s, billies 5100s set at 0, LR UCA's, front diff drop; CB drop; OME dakars and 5100s in the rear. I also have FJ wheels w/ 265/70/17 duratrecs. (doubtful if it matters for this question, but they're effin sweet...) Lucky me....:cookiemonster: I also have sliders that aren't installed yet. so thats even more weight to consider....

So any beta would be appreciated... Also has anyone fabbed cut outs for fog lights in the older ARB bumpers that dont have them? (know I KNOW thats a stupid question, but I am still curious). the MPG decrease is another thing for me to ponder. It wont be stopping me from doing it, I am not that sensible, but one still wonders. large animals crushing the front of the truck hurt MPG too...just sayin...:D

    Thanks!

Huh. what did you not like? I haven't noticed any problems, and Its been since march that I installed this setup (with major help) One thing we skipped was the rear axle shims. found them not to be necessary or good at all. I also have extended brake lines sitting in a box too tho. sort of overkill, but I'll get them on eventually.
I dont claim to know if things or wrong or right always tho, thats why I ask...:)

Oh ok well I don't have a custom skid ...yet. and I had skid plate spacers in my kit that helped my set up work just fine in that regard. Thanks tho.
