Scangauge II can it read oil pressure??

and your 2nd pic shows the TXD data you have entered is 07E121D9, but the correct data should be TXD: 07E021D9

I'll cross my fingers for you that, that's the only problem.

 

Thought the code might be the problem, since I saw a difference. Guess its a no go for you. I have 4.02 and was stated we needed at least 4.0 so its clear that's not the problem. Must be the year.

 

Yea... It seems they decided to redesign all the sensor parameter values in 2010. Why they did this I have no clue, but it makes our current CANSF XGauges not viable.

I'm also starting to get curious if Toyota is even reporting Trans Temp via OBDII at all anymore. I've read that people are having to install trans temp sensors themselves and wire them up to gauges in their 2010+ Toyota's. I can't imagine they wouldn't report TFT via OBDII though - that seems like a step backwards. I'll keep working on the 2010+ TFT though.

 

I'm sure we can verify that the transmission (with temp sensor hasn't changed) by looking at some wiring diagrams. I also Have techstream which reports all kinds of data. If it is reported threw techstream then It should be there.

You got any other Xguage codes for us to test out?

I just got my SCII and installed it in my 2012 this weekend. It's pretty sweet.

But yeah, the don't work - yet. Get on that, and quit slackin'!

TFT works on my 07 Tacoma

 

Awesome. I'm glad they work! Just too bad Toyota had to change things up for the 2010.

 

TFT didn't work on my 06 with version 3.17. Linear Logic upgraded me free to version 4.06 and TFT works now. Thanks Linear Logic!

Got my SGii back. The TFT code works on a "05" with the updated software.

Would love to get the pressure, altitude, and temp gauges working but have a feeling that is only for the first generation trucks....

Sorry for the delay in posting back here. I don't have anything else to test on the 05-09 Tacoma's, but I do plan on working on that soon. However I have been working on the 10+ model years and I think I may have found some TFT codes.

Here they are:

Transmission Temperature 1 (Degrees F) 2010+
TXD: 07E02182
RXF: 046105820000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 00090005FFD8
NAM: TF1

Transmission Temperature 2 (Degrees F) 2010+
TXD: 07E02182
RXF: 046105820000
RXD: 3808
MTH: 00090005FFD8
NAM: TF2

The nice thing is these do not require our latest software update, so if you have software version 3.14 or later these should hopefully work.

In my testing TF2 seems to react much faster than TF1, but both will read almost the same temperature when the vehicle is at idle. I can only guess that there are two temp sensors in different spot and that the TF2 sensor is in an area that see's faster temp changes then where TF1 is located. If anyone knows exactly where these sensors are on their vehicle - I would love to hear about it.

 

Yep, both work for me too. Can't wait to hear which is which so I can name them properly.

ETA: It seems that TF2 goes up a lot when you accelerate, but comes back down to meet TF1.

It goes up so much even that I do not believe this to be a fluid temperature indicator. Fluids don't (usually) increase 20-30F within seconds of pushing the accelerator. Perhaps a gas temperature sensor somewhere? Exhaust?

I cannot display both codes simultaneously.
When I move one of the gauges to show the second TF# code only the first one shows.
Yes, I made sure the codes exactly match the post.
Also i have tried all the four corners for each gauge and tried putting them in one or the other first.

Anyone have any thought(s) as to why?

 

Ah, I know why this is happening, my mistake for not mentioning it. It's a little complicated, but I'll try to explain it as best I can.

TF1 and TF2 are reported by the same parameter ID, but just in different parts of the response. This means the Transmit Signal (TXD) and the Receiving Filter (RXF) are the same. Prior to version 4.0 if you have two XGauges up on the screen with the same RXF value, then the first XGauge will essentially intercept the signal and not pass it through to the other XGauge that has the same RXF value.

When XGauge was first developed it was very uncommon for one Parameter ID to report more than 1 set sensor data, so there was no real need to add complexity to the XGauge feature in order for it to "share" messages. Then, as time went by it became more and more popular to cram multiple sets of sensor data into one Parameter ID, so we modified the XGauge feature in 4.0 to allow multiple XGauges to share the same signal. Anyone with 4.0+ will be able to see TF1 and TF2 just fine at the same time, but anyone without 4.0+ will have to chose 1 to monitor at a time.
