Nah, not for me it doesn't. I still like the Subies - trying to get the wife to buy a Legacy right now instead of a new Sonata actually. Still, I'd rather be in a 5.0 GT. STI and Mustangs are both cars for "car guys", just different car guys. Especially now that they finally put some serious muscle back in the Mustang.

I have heard many people happy about the 5.0 coming back. I wasn't impressed with anything since the last 5.0. Granted I did love the power my Mach 1 had! But it would just sit there and spin at the track. Had to launch her just right. BUT I was still able to launch her better than the AWD STi. Gave up on the STi - I suck at it. I just putt around town in it.. erm and end up speeding on the interstate... a little...

I notice everyone and their dad want the STi though! Just no one has the money for anything these days. I have NO problem getting the e-mails from interested people! A lot easier to get people than the mustangs did. (then again my first mustang was a 5 speed v6.. guys wanted the v8 girls wanted the auto. I lost a good amount on that car..)

ok i dont care what anyone says about a new 2012 5.0 having 400hp or whatever it is. i can tell you from past experience there is no way a 5.0 rustang is gonna beat a built sti with a gt35r on it. are you serious? a 35r is a pretty big huffer and to be flowing the 35r correctly the motor has to be built pretty good. all this stuff about muscle beats import everytime is bullshit. yeah maybe motor for motor but when you can put forced induction on something, its a whole different ball game

I think maybe you missed our recent posts about stock vs. stock, and stock vs. modded being a stupid argument...

Provide us with an official definition of a "sports car", if you will.

Google search it yourself... I bet you wont find a 4 door Subaru mentioned. Look I get it ... I had a Honda Prelude when I was younger and thought it was a "sports car". , and hey I hate Mustangs too.. but the 2011 5.0 GT is way more capable than the STi. Personally seenT a modded STi loose to a stock '11 5.0. Hell its on Youtube if you car to search.
I like the Subaru and there boxer engines ect. ect. ect. I think there neat cars. Just NOT a sports car. There a sport compact tuner car at best.

Fixed that one for you Mr. Technicality. You never answered the question anyway. Is your Corvette a sports car? Because it's certainly not an exotic car. In my town we call them mid life crisis vehicles

Anything that has spirited driving at its core should be considered a sports vehicle (be it truck, car, crossover) IMO. It's not a golden term reserved only for traditional boring Front engine, rwd hunks of "American muscle".
