You may have better or 'real' gasoline too? In California, they put so much crap in the gas, it is diluted so less energy! In Mexico, my mileage always is higher... Viva Pemex gasoline!

Idk? The local stations do have the label stating "may contain Ethynol" but not sure how much or what not. :notsure: I thought that was standard across the country?

No, in California the stations can only sell a special blend, so no cross state shipments of gasoline that doesn't have the green crap in it... Why gas is higher in California (along with the taxes)... Of course, we don't have toll highways as the only way to get around like the east coast does.

From full to the red light is 18 gallons right? if so that's 305 miles traveled divided by 18 gallons. Thus 16.94 mpg with 265/70/17 with a 2.5 lift.

Umm, you drive until you want to fill up... the more tank you use, the better the accuracy... divide the miles you drove by the gallons you fill it with... start with a full tank.

The low fuel light comes on with ~4 gallons left in the 21 gallon tank (17 used, not 18).. better is to look at the gas pump and write down the gallons that just went in! Zero your trip odometer each time you fill up.

Use Fuelly.com to keep track and post the link here.

I consistently got 20mpg before my tires and lift. Now it says I'm getting 16 but my speedo is way off with the 255/85s so I don't know for sure. I'm guessing 18ish.

EDIT: On my phone and didn't realize this is for 2nd gens.

Not just 2nd Gens, but for Double Cab, Automatics with 4WD and the 4.0 V-6... Just so we can compare apples to apples. We are seeing there are varieties of apples!!!

I have a DCSB V6 Auto (with 265/70/17 Duratracs) that I regularly get ~17.5mpg around town. My best tank was 19.1 mpg that was 90% highway driving. Keeping my tires properly inflated and not driving aggressively help my milage.

FWIW I usually get about 320 miles before my gas light and common sense force me to fill up. Which is almost always 18.5 gallons or so. I am scared of my 21 gallon tank it seems.

Just wondering on this subject, do the different trim levels or cabs/bed lenght's come with different gear ratio's? I'm sure the engine choice's do, but what about the different body's?

Then why does your Fuelly link say 16.8? [IMG]

That is close to mine (16.5)... I did say average, not 'best' mileage, right? My best was 19.2.

A reminder... looking for your daily AVERAGE MPG... NOT the 'BEST' MPG you ever got, okay? Only for DC 4WD V-6 AUTOs. Thanks!
