My Potential Set Up

Hi guys, this is my first post on TW and im excited to be a member and a proud owner of a Tacoma! So now to business...

Ive been doing some research and I came up with a potential set up that I think would suit my taste. What I want is for anyone to give their input on what they think of the products that I have selected and/or any personal experience or even opinions. Thank you in advance to anyone that responds to this post.

-33's perhaps?


(I have questions like do I need any other parts for the lift?, Would the 17's give me any problems or would they fit fine?, and also Ive heard that 33's with a 3" lift would have slight rubbing problems...so would anyone suggest a smaller tire or would i be fine?) once more thanks for any input or advice.

 

I didn't see there what u planned for in the back?? (found it. Ur getting the kit) Get the AAL as opposed to the block.

285/70/17 will be the tires you want. You will have some rubbing that can be taken care of by removing your front mud flaps and timming some plastic. U might have to "cab mount chop" search that term. 17's are fine although I've read you should find a wheel with backspacing 4.5 or under.

You might want to consider new UCA's. I didn't see where you included them and they can be a fairly significant amount of money. Also, I wouldn't throw the CB drop kit on when you do the install. I'd wait til afterwards and install it if you need it. I bought one for my truck but if you look, it'll make the initial angle coming out of the transmission worse and only slightly better the angle between the CB and rear diff. Seems axle shims would be much more effective in my opinion.

 

Thanks for the input guys. I placed in my order with toytec and im super excited. With your responses im veering more towards a 32" tire mainly because I currently dont want anything "chopped" at least not yet lol. Also im looking more into uca's...pretty expensive but im guessing it'll be worth it in the long run.

 

fyi, the mickey thompson classic 2s have a sealer or clearcoat to protect the finish. do not, DO NOT use any aluminum polish or buffing compound on the wheels.. or the clear coat will come off and you will have shitty looking wheels.
