Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
There is no toothed gear on these models. It's simply a prox switch the reads the roller bearing.

Really? Huh, ya learn something new every day :D
Not exactly, I'm sure some companies handle it differently then others but I know most single vehicle accidents my buddies have gotten into over the years required police reports

I tried to read as much of this as I could, but there was a lot of banter.

If insurance is not in the cards, then I say get a bunch of detailed pics posted of the damage, and a consolidated list of issues in order of importance and TW will try to come together and get as much of it resolved as we can.

Maybe see if you can find a local member near you that can come over and help out also.

    Scribed for pics.

OP - Sorry to hear about your truck man.

This thread's a bit of a mess of advice, but I'm guessing that you're not really going to get what you're looking for. A bunch of us take on minor maintenance and tuning and upgrades on our trucks. Installing lifts and suspensions. Seat swaps. Stereo upgrades. Some of it fairly involved, but all basically Saturday afternoon stuff. A few do harder core stuff - engine/tranny swaps and so-on.

But you need a collision-repair-body-shop man for your advice. That's just not the kind of thing your weekend tacoma-mod-hobbyist takes on. If we wrack up our trucks at highway speeds, we call the insurance adjuster and body shop. And the guys who do it for a living understandably don't want to take a lot of time out of their day trying to tell an amateur over the internet how to do their job.

So sorry about that, and good luck to you.

This is really it, isn't it? If the wreck was as described and jarring enough to hose up a bunch of disparate systems, what's the chance the frame's not altered? Internets can't help. Go to the shop.
