APR X-1 Launch Control

*Performed on a closed course in Mexico*

X-Runner 0-100mph utilizing the APR X-1's launch control for optimal 0-60 times (still needs some minor tuning to make it faster).

What was done to the engine cause that thing sure as hell didn't sound stock to me.

 

Don't worry.. its faster then that. Right now the LC (launch control) is still choking the motor. I'm still tuning it, once its done, I hope to have the 0-60 in about 4.5-4.9 seconds (the truck is capable of it).

TRD boosted, as seen in the beginning only 6psi of boost right now, plan on running 10psi when all is said and done.... :biggrin:

 

I will only dream of running 13s @ 10psi with my turbo setup!

 

10psi, with good driving you should be able to hit 13's them first gen tacos are light, especially the 4cyl.

I should be mid 12's at 10psi of boost.

just out of curiosity what made you go with the apr X-1 over urd

 

what do you mean? Over a URD maf cal or AIC?

 

why did he go with the x-1 versus urds map-ecu2?
I'm curious what the x-1 has over the map-ecu2 as its almost double the price.

 

sexy, how did u fight axle wrap at such high accelerations? Is there something about the X-runner's rear suspension that I dont know about? Or did u just weight down the bed? get stiffer springs? Thanks! I love your truck

The X-1 is superior over the ME2. The X-1 comes with exhaust timing gears and 170* t-stat for one (can't get those with the ME2). It also houses bonus programs that you can't get with the ME2 - Launch Control and Engine Guardian (a fail safe mode when it detects issues with the fuel delivery).

It is also plug and play out of the box, you don't need to spend an additional $300 for a harness like the ME2. The APR X-1 was designed SPECIFICALLY for the 1GR ECU, where as the ME2 is a universal one. So you are going to have a lot more control over the ECU.

I've swapped the factory leafs with the Sittin Sic composite drop leafs (higher load capacity then stock), and i'm currently running some slapper bars to help with the hop.

Well there ya go, some more features unique to the X-1.

 

is the apr x-1 easy for an inexperienced person to use?

 

its not to bad. basic things like air fuel ratio are pretty simple to change. but you need a understanding at what your looking at, and what your looking to do.

 

Yes. X-1 install is cake, plug-n-play. Cam gears are a sensitive install. But the X-1 comes pre-loaded with a map, and is self tuning for new mods. So once its installed, you don't really ever have to do anything with it again if you don't want to (unless you do a major upgrade like boost).

 

I want mine to do that....... lol
