Forgive me for being a shithead, this is a pointless thread but i need direction. im not looking to get rid of my 03 but im realy thinking about picking up a 2nd gen standard cab...
Question...... i remember seeing a member on here with what, i think, was a tan 2nd gen standard cab with an off center stripe decal on the hood...sockmonkey style but only 1 side of the hood. super nostalgic with the old style tacoma pickup. can anyone point me in the right direction with a picture?

    thanks again

if you're just looking for the stickers, they are sockmonkey's

not the truck you're looking for, but here's what they look like. of course you could use just one if you wanted

i know, i think that is the decal...... but something about it on that tan 2nd gen reminded me of my 89. i need more of a reason to get another truck. your right though, i think it is that decal but only on the drivers side..... i know its someone on here.

good eye, a quote from a post at tundra solutions...
I've been doing some studing of the truck from BTTF and I think they used 3 or more of them for different shots. In the first movie when the toy showed up on the rollback wreaker it was a 85 with a single tube rollbar and it looks like a single tube when he opened the garage and from one of the sceens when truck was going away from the camera, when the camera was shot from above on the left. And the toy in garage had front licence plate and no covers on lights. And the close up of the truck with Marty and Jennifer it was a double tube and in a couple other shots it looks like the truck has an indepentent suspension you can see the lower A-Arms, which means it was bought to be used in the part II (1989) and part III (1990). And one close up with Marty in drivers seat you can see it's an 1985 with leaf springs. In the Part III (1990) you can see they put on light covers and then the front licence plate is gone. I may be wrong, and or I may be right. We can argue about it for years and never really know. But I believe there were 3 or more used. But the origanal (On the rollback and in the garage) is an 85 with EFI and a single tube rollbar and another 85 with a double tube and another one with independent suspension. And they used all 3 for different shots. When they edited the movies. Well that's my opinion. I've watch all 3 movies and looked at the 7 pics from this thread.

    John...

i still want to go to statler toyota
