Now, as to whether you cant retrofit your 8" e-locker with an ARB Locker - I'd say your best bet is to call up either ARB USA, or ring up East Coast Gear Supply, and talk to Chase. The ARB in question would be # RD129.

It's the ring gear, and no, the part isn't bad. There were a batch of trucks that were put together improperly in Mexico. Here's my writeup:

okay, so a mechanic looked at my truck, and said it happened because of how my axle is angled, it is just going to keep happening again so, my dad went down to four wheel parts, where icons & lift was put on. (they never recommended or even said anything about a differential drop) And talked to the manager, and im bringing the truck to 4WP today, and if a dif drop was needed they are fixing the whole thing

Sounds like BS. My pinion, as many others, hasnt had any shims installed, and is fine.

x2. The small change in driveline angle may stress u-joints and cause some vibes and premature u-joint failure, but I find it VERY hard to believe it would snap your fucking pinion.

Probably was set up wrong from factory and was just a time bomb waiting to happen. Sucks, but someone has to get the last one built on a Friday afternoon... :\

IIRC Toyota thirds use shims, not a crush sleeve.
