For anyone interested in survival tips geared towards city living, check out a book called The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse. It is by a guy name Fernando "Ferfal" Aguirre, who lived through the financial collapse of Argentina in 2001. He talks about everything from how the financial collapse effected everyday life and how he and his family lives now. He hits almost every topic (home security, food and water storage, self defense, vehicles, survival gear, finance, etc.....). It is just a good perspective for someone who lived through a SHTF event and how it changed the way he and his family lives, and how you can have a good life in spite of it.

Sounds like a great read!! Don't think we are far off from a collapse of our own. I would love to be able to relocate with like minded people....that is the only way to make it if SHTF like I think it is going to here in the states.

can't eat gold but it's worth something EVERYWHERE. you can always trade it for something you may need.

i like knowing how to survive on minimal things because you don't have to carry much. i know ways to get water without carrying 5 gallon containers and make a shelter without a tent and there's not much clean up if you're on the move.

like i said, i'm trained to evade in the case that people are coming after you. i'm NOT prepared for defending what i have. i should work on that.

I have been leaning toward buying items that play off of peoples needs such as tobacco, alcohol, and caffene

No....I will have to go back and look it over!

No sure...price and I think it is a better quality watch?!

well, to be honest, it was a gift. i want the whole compass, altimeter and barometer in a watch and my gf, at the time, talked to one of my buddies that went through SERE with me and now he works with the SEALs. this is the watch that is issued to the seals soo that's what she decided to buy me. she took my buddy's advice because i didn't really know what would be the best.
