Lift and tire suggestions

I have an 04 reg cab tacoma right now on 31x10.5's. I would like to put a set of 33's on it. Some general tips on a good lift and some good tires would be apreciated I'd like to keep it around a grand cost wise if possible.

What wheels are those? Good tires are gonna run you atleast 600$ so that doesn't leave much left for the lift. Daystar sells a 2 1/2" spacer lift tho. They call it a leveling kit. Supposedly lifts the front 2 1/2 and back 1 1/2, but it lifted mine almost 3" front and back. it cost around 140$ and double that if you're not gonna install it yourself. As far as tires, I'm a BFGoodrich guy.

 

hey guys I have the 5100's up front and the equivalent rears, and I have em set on the medium snapring setting. this gives me exactly what I need for lift but it's way too stiff for my liking. any suggestions? I could sell the billys and get an ome kit but does anyone know what I can get for used billys? front and rear. I want the lift but I also need the softer ride of off road suspension. the current setup is beating the hell out of my front end. ???

 

If you don't like the billies then you should probably go back to stock, they aren't very aggressive at all.... As far as the OP goes, yea ur budget is a little off for tires and a lift... but I've been using a top plate spacer as a temp lift and it's been just fine.

 

$600??? Where do YOU shop??!! I'm looking for some 265/75's (basically 31-32" tires) and a decent set is running almost $800 at places like Tirerack.com...

Of course, I'm looking at BFG's. I've seen some pretty crap tires going for $130 each....

I'd budget more like $800-$900 for a good set of 33's...

Front spacers and a rear AAL would probably run $300-$400, and you'll probably want a diff drop kit too...

Don't get a spacer lift... you will hate yourself. The ride and quality is terrible. If anything, get bilstein 5100 shocks from downsouthmotorsports.com . AAL for the rear is like $85.

The rims are 16x8 american racing torques and I've been researching on tires and I no it wont be easy to swing but I dont figure on buying them brand new hope to find a set in good shape that I can get at a good price. Closest thing i could find to a 33 in the metric size was a 305 70 r16 but idk if these will fit on my rims. For the lift I was thinking the blistens in the front and blocks and w.e else i need in the rear.

 

The rims are actually american racing fuel 16x8

I too have been reading a shitload in here and asking questions of a local, who has built many, many Tacomas and a few Tundras. A lot depends on what you are going to do with the truck along with how much you want to spend.
The local dude has suggested "ready lift" kit, which is spacers and blocks- keep the ride nice without making it like a logging truck. I know alot of guys in here don't like spacers...but it is a way to acheive your goal and more have money for tires.

For tires I, too, have been looking all over. Tire Rack, Discount Tire, Town Fair Tire, etc.....looks like 4wheelonline.com has the best pricing ang free shipping for most tires. so far...

 

If i were you i would just wait and save up enough $ for a proper lift and tires rather than buying a cheap lift so you can afford tires, because down the road you will just hate yourself for buying a cheap crappy lift and will change it to something better...so you will just be spending more money in the end.

You can run the Bilstein's front and rear set at the bottom snap ring setting with an AAL and Eibach coils for about 450-500, but eibachs will probably give you around 4" rather than 3 since your a reg cab but bumpers, winch, skids etc will help the front sag a bit and ride a shit ton better than just the bilsteins...or do the cheap mans rear lift by re-building your existing leaf pack with a set of junkyard packs, but the best way to lift the rear is with a completely new pack like All-Pro.

I think you should just go ahead and bump your budget up a bit to about 1400 and get a decent set of tires for 600-700 and spend the rest on a lift:

 

I did alot of looking around and went to the place that i ordered my rims from truckaddons.com and I found some faulken a/t in the 305 70 16 for like 183 a piece and most the reviews I read on them where good. Then i found a rough country 2.5 lift for 250 and there store isnt but like 80 miles from me so i dont have to worry for paying for expensive ass shipping. I called and they said about 300 for labor to put kit and tires on which I may do cuz i want it done right since this is my DD.
