Set up to run the Rubicon ?

Forgive my ignorance... but why can a pretty much stock 4runner get through while very few have done it in a 2nd gen?

 

wheel base, approach and departure angles are different.

 

A few years ago when the FJs was just comeing back out I was up at Tellico and we were heading up slickrock . I had a very well built 4 runner and i was not to sure if we were going to make it . Long story short the FJ trail team guys were there testing the FJ they had 4 or 5 of them and they all wore uniforms and stuff anyways they drove that stock fj right up I was very impressed . As much as i think i mite be able to take my Tacoma through the rubicon i think i would be better off just takeing a 5000 dollar beater and not haveing to worry so much .
