Well that sucks! I didn't know that. It still is a sweet machete though. No I didn't know that. I always try to buy American even if it's costs more. But then again I don't blame the companies too much. If you were getting taxed and regulated as much as the businesses do here you would think long and hard about moving to a country that was easier to do business in and way more profitable. Even GE figured out a way to launder their money overseas and paid I think $0 in taxes last year. A billion dollar company, their CEO Imelt is Obamas jobs czar, they paid in no taxes to the USA. I paid a hell of lot more in taxes than they did and I make peanuts. What does that yell ya? Ok off my soap box and back on topic. Dam gubment pisses me off.

Kinda hard to find a product that's entirely designed, produced, and manufactured in one country nowadays... Even many "American" cars are assembled in Mexico from parts built in Japan or Europe, while some "German" or "Japanese" cars are assembled here by US workers... Beauty of a global open market I guess!...

Quick question, without turning it into politics: why are you upset at the govt and not at the corporations that find a way to not pay taxes, while we common working citizens are stuck with paying taxes no matter what? Please let's not turn this into a debate though, I like TW and this thread too much and don't want to be banned :D

Used to love Gerber when they made in USA. Have a sog twitch II, pretty good but slippery.

Currently have a Kershaw, nice, sturdy, good blade, fast open and made in USA.

I like my pocket knives made here, cooking knives are ok from Germany.

Please by no means take me the wrong way...that is a sick machete! I was in the market for a fixed blade and I wanted a Ka-bar. Upon researching it at a local shop they told me that Ka-bar sold out. Congrats! I am sure the amazing quality hasn't changed!

I'm on my phone and I can't quote multiple people so I gist picked the most recent one.

As for the crkt knife, I have that smaller one with the black handle. It's kinda junky... Haha the lock doesn't work right.

That's weird, maybe it's because some of the knife handle is plastic? The one I have is all metal, and I had it for 8 years now with no problems, other than the lost screw which CRKT replaced for free. They are probably not the best knives out there, but I think it's a really good knife for the money.

I wouldn't mind getting one of the bigger ones. I just really don't like it bc it's so small. The Gerber I carry is probably about the same size as the bigger crkt posted

No my bad I did not take what you said the wrong way in the least. My bad if I gave that impression. I was upset another company has left the USA and the fact that our gubment is the cause. And yes I hope the quality is still the same. I haven't received it in the mail yet so I will no more when it arrives.

the one i have is completely metal. in the current state it is in it is pretty rough cause i am missing parts and it really needs to get cleaned. then again i got that knife from a buddy when we were in middle school so it is probably 8 years old?

they probably aren't the best ever made haha but i think that they are durable and pretty good quality for the price. i also am a huge fan of good customer service and the fact that CRKT will send me parts that i lost for free shows me that they care about their consumer. they will more than likely always have my business

the new one i just picked up is pretty damn big lol. the length of the blade is 5" and from tip of the blade to the bottom of the hilt the knife is about 10 1/4". the black handled one i posted earlier has the blade length of 3 1/2" and it is 8" from tip of the blade to the bottom of the hilt. my current EDC is a assisted opening kershaw and the length of the blade is 2 1/2" and it about 6" from tip of the blade to the bottom of the handle. pretty nice knife but really needs to be sharpened lol
