intermittent problems are always a pain to troubleshoot. Maybe you have a coil that is getting weak?

    Truck looks good though

It probably has something to do with the computer freaking out at the lack of Cats. You said you pulled a check engine light code correct? I tried looking up the code you gave and it has to do with boost sensors on boosted engines so I think it was wrong.

Ok then. if NO cel is on...

You need to look at the fuel filter make sure its not plugged up. (first)

Check cam and crank shaft sensors. ( sound like where the problem is ) it will not always throw a CEL.

I would check the fuel rail pressure Make sure your regulator is working correctly.

AS someone else sad bad injectors or going out.

Could also be a bad oil pump. Toyota engine needs oil pressure or they run like crap.

Could also be a fuel pump going bad also. that can be confirmed with a fuel rail test from above.

its the o2 sensor, the reason it gets better under full throttle is because at that point the computer no longer reads off of the o2 and changes to the maf. had the same problems with my honda

Tps will not throw a code 99% of the time.

I want to say the cam shaft for the 2.7 if my memory is correct on the drivers side looks like a square plug (its under something) some please chime in on that.

Crank senser is on driver side side also behind the harmonic balencer.

A haynes manual will tell you the ohms for it to check to see if it good or not.

One more thought you could have a (drop out as its called also) on your MAF or crank or cam senser. Only way to check for that you will need a LAB SCOPE to confirm that.

Edit for the tps if you have a scanner that you can see % on the Tps (ing. on engine OFF) watch from opening up to close the numbers keep going up when you open and go down as you close the throttle.. DONT full throttle it, it will tell you nothing. You could have a bad spot on the tps in the middle that where to look.
