Thoughts on new grill emblem design

I'm not happy with my painting skills (or lack thereof) so I'm going to redo the emblem tomorrow. I purchased a spray can of the line-x bed liner stuff so I'm going to use it to paint the emblem and give it a nice textured look. Then I'm going to sand off the liner from the outer edge, TRD and stripes to expose the metal underneath. I think I'll finish it off by painting one of the stripes red. Updated photos tomorrow and hopefully the "T" emblem early next week.

 

keep working on it bro it looks good! i would suggest laying down a base of primer then painting the red then let it dry tape it of do white tape that off and do the rest in black. the primer will give you a smooth base and your different colors will match up perfect

 

After struggling with painting the emblem, I decided to buy a spray can of bed liner material and give the emblem a nice textured look. I then sanded off the liner material on the logo and outer ring, bead blasted, and then 3 coats of clear. Here is the finished product. In case you are wondering, I am beginning to explore the possibility of licensing with Toyota, I need to contact them and see if it is even possible. I have another idea that might allow me to avoid any approval thru Toyota, but I'll talk to my lawyer and get his advice first.

Also, I'll work on the "T" logo in the next week and try to do the same finish with it.

I'd really like your comments/suggestions. I had thought of painting one of the stripes red but I'm going to leave this one as-is.
