with a lot of research i found a driveline fix for the problem i was having. if you have driveline thump while brakeing with no force on the rearend(in neutral) or if you think the slip yoke has a little slack in it try greaseing the slip yoke. i cleaned and greased the slip yoke took the truck out for a test drive all was fixed. a week later still good so i droped the slip yoke again drlled and tapped for a grease plug no more driveline noise or thump. i know some people are worried about hydro. lock of the slip yoke if there is to much grease in there but remember the yoke is not sealed any air that is in there comes right out. once the slip yoke is installed rock the truck back and forward you will hear air come out and yoke works fine.
so thank to all on here i have a driveline that feels like it should no more jerky or clanky feel.:D

Be careful how much grease you put in there (with grease gun).

The 1st gen tacomas had a zerk from the factory and if you pump too much grease in it, it'll prevent the slip yoke from moving inward and you'll get other problems (noises, clunks, etc).
