2001 Tacoma TRD SRD V6 X-Cab Limited Edition

Guys I have a space about 5"X1" that is completely broken up and destroyed on the drivers side as one gets in the truck on the driver side about mid shoulder high.

These are cloth seats and are in great shape except for this one area!

Is there a way to repair this easily or what? I'm wide open for suggestions
