Hey TW, just wanted to get some advice from you knowledgeable folks here because i know the stealership wont give me a straight answer,

Since i bought my 2011 Tacoma double cab V6 TX Pro in May of this year, it blew a coil pack at 3000 miles and just blew one again last saturday at 10700 miles, is this is a common occurence?

I know its replaced all under warranty for free but they are taking 2 weeks each time between repairs and ordering the part, i know the job takes all of 30 minutes or so.

Is this going to be an ongoing occurence? its really becoming a big hassle and they dont know when the part will be in or when they can repair my truck =(

Question being should i keep my truck and just hope for the lemon law to take into effect? if it even will, or should i get rid of it while it has value? Im not sure just more or less discouraged that i have a new truck with this problem along with a few others, take of shutter, diff vibes and such

    Any help is appreciated, thanks

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Its not comon so something is wrong.
To answer you question, I would make last ditch effort and call Toyota HQ to get all those little bits fixed. You still have plenty of time left in warranty in the meantime you should be enjoying free rental provided by Toyota

Check your state's Lemon Law provisions. Usually after a certain number of returns to the dealer for the same repair, the Lemon Law can be invoked for a buyback of the affected vehicle.

Looks like for NY it needs to be four or more repairs for the same item and a continuous problem for it to be considered a lemon.

I would definitely be keep records and then just contact toyota directly and the BBB if you reach four repairs do not mess around and play nice guy it will come back to hurt you in the end.

I would try and play nice until the fourth repair happens and then do what is needed to seek replacement.

Next time you are in request a print out of your vehicle service history if you do not have the previous repairs already.

Do not waste your time with the dealer unless you feel loyal to them or if they are the only one in the area.

They should be the ones prompting to replace the vehicle. In my line of work I prompt the customer and offer a replacement to them if the item has been repaired before three times and I am out to diagnose the fourth problem. For me it does not have to even be the same problem at hand just three prior part installs on the product.
