These things are bigger than what I expected, I hope I can still install one under my center console!

I have a few 4 guage amp install kits laying around somewhere. If I can find them I plan on using that. I wonder if the 30A fuses included with the wiring kits will be sufficient for this?

EDIT: I just found THIS write up from someone who installed one on an FJ. Looks like I gotta back up and punt haha. Gonna need some more materials.

no you need something for around 85 amps if running the inverter at max power

OK thank you sir! I am gonna try to find a resettable 100A fuse locally, if I can't find one I'll order one online before I attempt the install.

Would it be better to mount the inverter under the dash and run the AC outlets to the desired locations, or mount the inverter under the console and run the AC outlets to where I'm wanting them?

Thinking about wiring one of these in one of the closeable bed pockets. I don't have the stock plug back there. I bought two.

I would say your best bet would be to mount the inverter in the cab and run a good quality extension cord to the bed and into one of the pockets. That would prevent water/dust/mud from getting inside the inverter.

How many did you order? It seems like the ones that ordered 1-3 are getting their orders filled and those that are ordering more than that are getting shot down.

    i ordered 2 on 12-31-11.

i just received an "order invoice" email today from jc whitney stating that my payment was approved, confirming my order number, and various info on tracking numbers which would be emailed to me within a few business days, depending on which carrier they used to ship. it also confirmed my bill to and ship to address. sounds encouraging, at least it did not say they were cancelling my order...

although i am not positive, i am at least a little more hopeful at this point that i may wind up seeing these. i guess the next step is to wait and see if they transmit a tracking number(s)...

I've PMed a few people, I'd love to buy an inverter for a fair price off someone. $20 shipped?
since I'm stuck in a 1st gen now, I miss the AC outlet i had in my 05, made camping and work a lot better
