I know Ive seen this before but searching left me clueless. How do you remove the mudflap fasteners? i tried with 2 screw drivers on either side of the fastener and the top just broke off, leaving it still fastened in...

There's a little slit on the edge of the top of the fastener to slip the screwdriver edge in and pop it up, you can stick the tip of the blade in about 2mm if I recall. If that isn't working for you I'd go with needlenose pliers and pull the middle straight out, esp if the top came off. GL

I had my best luck just pulling on the flap.
Any pry/direct pull resulted in a broken push rivet top.

Mine had two different types on it, one was the type that requires the center to be pushed in first, the others just lift up like you were saying. Both are complete crap and will break easily, after they get road grime/dust/dirt in and on them, it doesn't let them slide. Seems those fasteners can be had for not much money.

Kinda hard to splain but the dull end of a screw driver is too "fat" I guess u could say.. I used my pocket knife and it worked good.
