    Hello Forum,

Any ideas out there on how to secure the rear sliding window? Can I put a metal stick or something in the channel that the window slides in?

    Thanks.

SS rod in the channel is what I did! I looped one end so it was easy to take out!

I accidently broke one of my cb antennas so i reused it by cutting it to length and putting it in the track

    Get a shell :D

Personally, I can't fit through the rear slider if it is open. Also, if someone is going to break into your truck, do you honestly think they'll mess with the rear slider or just break the driver's side window? Something small and thin that sits in the track and is unable to be seen will prevent the window from being slid open but they will probably break the slider in the process.

I know several people who have been broken in through the rear window so that is a real concern

Maybe some kind of bar across the middle of the window that can be removed when you don't want to use it?

Here is the problem with making things too secure. If some low life wants to break in, he is going to. The more secure you make it, the more damage he causes in the process. Personally, I would just use the factory latch.
