I do a lot of back packing and I always carry my food but it would be pretty cool to be able to identify edible foods in the wild

    Thanks for the good info.
Lol thanks a members pointing me in the right direction.

Yeah keep in mind that guy writes that from the point of view that most people don't have a clue or think ahead at all. The main character makes a lot of, shall I say, near sighted mistakes and doesn't go about things for the long term. I don't want to ruin it for you but for one example, the one thing his daughter needs the most...;)

Happy B-day by the way.

Gonna put some rounds down range today. Need some practice. And it's raining so it's gonna be fun. :D

The best thread I have seen in this site so far. I have a BOB bag at home but now you guys made me realize that now I need to get one in my truck as well as my girlfriends. I will post pictures up of my BOB bag soon.

FYI guys you should look into carrying a pair of Northface or Mountian Hardware hiking pants in your BOB as well as a thermal underware. The hiking pants are awesome becasue you can unzip the bottom half and they transform into shorts.

Question, anybody have any recommendations for another aux fuel cell? I That is at the top of my preferance to get modded on my 11 taco pre runner.

Guys it would not be a bad idea to look into a meetup group in your local region for survivalist, campers or hiking. You can learn a lot from other people.

I am in So Cal so if SHTF here I may be f'ed because of the traffic craze if anything happened. I mountain bike quite a bit locally here in the so cal hills and trails so I have knowledge of back country fire roads here. I am going to go into REI tommorow and try to find Topo maps of the western part of the US.

    Thanks all!

Ham meeting went well - exam seems easy. Can't wait to dive into the hobby and get set up w/a 2 meter radio.
