Nokya Harness

I'm looking to getting some yellow nokya bulbs for the fogs, does anyone on here run the plug and play harness for them too? I was debating whether to buy it or not, worried bout melting or damaging the stock harness. Also I noticed for the 2012 owners, the fogs are H11 now, not H10.

 

How many watts are the new bulbs?

What's this harness you speak of? I ran the Nokya bulbs and just plugged them into the stock wiring, no additional harness required.

They are supposed take the high heat given from the nokya bulbs. One end goes into the bulb and the other the stock harness plugs into it.

 

Hmmm... might not be a terrible idea. I was running the 45W bulbs on stock wiring.

 

check the bulbs again, mine are 42watt and say 55watt light output. i just plugged them in, no issues so far

 

Two 55W bulbs are less than 10 amps, and I believe the factory circuit is fused at 15 amps. I wouldn't worry about a wiring harness, you're more at risk of melting the plastic housings than the wires.

The factory bulbs I think are 27W, at 42W I wouldn't even flinch.

Unless you're looking at a wiring harness to fight off voltage drop from the factory wiring, but honestly the factory fogs are useless in just about every driving scenario but the very worst, so it's not really an effective use of a wiring harness (better off doing the headlights).

 

Probably a waste of $20. On high output bulbs, like above factory headlights at 55-60W, it is probably a consideration--but I'd only install ceramic plugs if installing a wiring harness, I wouldn't bother otherwise.

My headlights are 65/70W and the plugs have held up fine with factory, non-ceramic plugs.

 

^^i don't have the bulbs yet so can't confirm what they say. I do however have an H4 nokya bulb that box says 90/100watt and the bulb itself says same thing.
