Get a service report and everything that happened in writing.
You might want to threaten to go to the news if they don't give you your supercharger installed for free. That would be getting off easy.

    Seriously?

Not properly checking lug nuts is a serious offense for any service department. I'm sure people have died in accidents caused by this, and I would be upset. But your response is obnoxious.

It's stories like these that make me want to do my own minor services. Stripped oil pan drain bolt plugs, misalligned air filters/covers, brake fluid into valve cover oil fill holes [seen this myself watching at a quick change oil change shop], dropped bolts into floor silt [not being super cleaned before reinserting. etc. etc. etc.......

Maybe I'm just bitter that my dealership screwed me as well. I've also had my entire fender pushed in to the point my door didn't open but it "didn't happen there."

I just think they should pay when they make a mistake. It could have been worse.

I'd say they should give him free lifetime inspections and service but what point would that be, they suck. Maybe a credit of free service for the life of the vehicle at the dealer of choice would be the most fitting...

Wow! That is horrible. Someone could have easily gotten hurt. I'm glad you're ok!!

My Mom had a similar experience at a shop. She was getting her brakes serviced and they either didnt put enough brake fluid in, none at all, or left the lines totally open. Her brakes suddenly got spungy on the drive home and immediately pulled over. Much longer and she would have had zero brakes whatsoever. The shop tried to play it off like it was just a problem with the vehicle. Fucking scumbags. If it were me, I would have raised far greater hell.

Glad you're ok. I took mine in for the 5000 mile service. Then, I started hearing horror stories like yours. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll be doing my own service.

I'm a supervisor where I work and I one thing I've learned is that there are a lot of people who don't take any pride in the quality of their work. I see it everyday at my workplace and I know these same type of slackers are working at other places as well (including Toyota dealerships). Heck, I've seen some that work at McDonald's that can't even make a decent hamburger (reality is that it's not that they can't do it, they really just don't care whether it's right or not--they just want a paycheck for going through the motions).

All that said, there's no way their touching my truck unless it's for some serious warranty work.

What have you done to your truck lately
    This is what I requested:
Replace Rim and what ever else needs to be replaced.
Reverse Tires white wall to black wall.
    Discount on Super charger
    Here are the results:
Picked up truck: tires were changed to black walls, replaced rim, lug nuts & tires re balanced. No detail to the truck, excuse was wanted to hurry up and finish truck, so next service I need to make appointment one month in advance so I can get a loaner and then they will detail the truck. As for the Super charger, they claim that they do not get discounts on TRD Products including employees, so they discount the labor cost of installation $103.00 to $93.00 an hour. Sent a email to Corporate Office waiting for a response. To me we are treated like a dime a dozen even though it was a life threating. Maybe I should have let the back end drop and maybe Toyota would have taken more responsibility. I called the Service Manager and left a voice mail and til this day no response. Piss poor customer relations.

Wow that blows. Glad you were alright though. Luckily I've had no issues with my dealer, knock on wood. I'm at 36k miles and they have done all my 5k interval services.

    Yes.
Toyota is surprisingly bad at putting on wheels. I always check the lug nuts after they touch my truck. I have found lug nuts in my driveway, that had fallen off my Corolla, shortly after service. Also had a lug nuts start falling off a 4Runner when my fiance was test driving it. At least that technician was fired.
