    does anyone know where i can buy the channels for a roof rack set up on camper shells?

    I know that they're available here at the major canopy (cap) dealers but I would suspect that the price is high retail. (Yakima, Thule)

    Upgraded 2002 Tacoma to 2018 Tundra
    Check out Perry Craft. I have the Aventura roof rack on my truck, which is a universal type that you can make fit on a camper shell. They come in different sizes and widths to fit your needs. They have many other styles also.

    Not all shells were designed to carry a load on top of the shell. The ones that come with a rack from the factory are often beefed up to be mindful of how much weight you have up there.

    I bought my Thule tracks off of Amazon. I bought the 60" tracks (cheaper) and cut them shorter. I paid $107.95

    BTW it's my understanding that the Thule and Yakima tracks are identical and actually extruded in the same factory. Thule and Yakima just slap their name on them.

    the only thing I'm going to be putting on the racks are surfboards...nothing too heavy.
