Has anyone had a problem with their power door locks. My drivers door quit working today. All the other doors work fine. I did do the lock/unlock beep mod a few months ago. I took the door panel back off and checked everything. I also checked the voltage going into the actuator, the two blue wires on the plug, and have 10v when the lock/unlock button is pressed. I assume then the problem is the actuator itself. Is there something else I need to check? It looks as if the actuator and locking mechanism are one piece. I may be mistaken but if it is I am sure Toyota is very proud of it.

$308 at the dealer. Anyone know somewhere else to order an actuator?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I encountered this problem. 2008 Tacoma with 35,000 miles. Sure seems like the actuator should last longer than that.

Anyway, I think I found the actuator for sale online here for about $50. I haven't ordered it yet, though.

I had all sorts of window/door lock problems on my '98 Corolla. Just taking the covers off the buttons and cleaning all the dust out of it fixed the problem. It took 30 minutes to clean all 4 doors. It might not work for you, but it's a cheap/quick thing to try before spending your cash. Good luck.
