I bought an '06 TRD Sport with 40,000 miles on it. Great shape except the alloy wheels were blistering through the paint due to corrosion:mad:. Reading the warranty, I figured this might be covered. Reading TW forums on this issue, I learned some dealerships covered it and some did not. I figured it was worth a try.

I showed the corrosion to the service manager at the local dealership, and by the next day, he ordered new rims for my truck. This DOES seem to be a big problem with the '06-'08 alloy wheels, so, short of doing a general recall, Toyota is honoring replacement under warranty with these corroded wheels:D.

So the story ends up good!!! If you have this problem, take it to the dealership and demand the problem be taken care of!![IMG]

Mine was not covered under warranty when others were is because "I did not properly maintain my truck". This is based on me using Toyota dealers for my service. This was told to me by Jose Valdez at Toyota Customer Satisfaction. This decision was based on the opinion of the regional representative who never met me or saw my truck.

That is since toyota does not stand behind its warranty.

Extended warranty is pointless they want you to pay diag fees and blame you when there are clear problems then state nothing is wrong or it is your fault.

They can find a way out of anything.

Maybe Jose was just making sure he gets a bonus.
