75 is when they went to the 2F.

Not sure on the stick vs. column shift.

The 35's are going to be sold and 31's are going on it. The 35's that are on it (according to the seller) have 80% tread left, and they are bfg AT's...so they will be sellable.

Hopefully it spent its life in FL, so the rust is minimal.

Well, I just called the guy who has it listed as another "interested buyer" :spy:

And got some info that my girl didn't.

    According the the seller:

Motor runs good, no knocks or ticks. Tranny shifts fine in 1st and second. He didn't get a chance to get int 3rd because the brakes dont work well. Motor smokes a bit, be he said he things its because the motor is running rich and the carb needs rebuilt.

3/4 brakes are hooked up. One of the brakes' lines are cut. All four need attention.

    Frame is solid, minimal rust.

    Needs a new front bumper

Floorboards are rusted through, the extent is unknown. I told him to take pics of the rust and email them to me. Rust on the sides under the body under the diamond plate he has on it.

Bed area has some rust, but not rusted through.

The apron/fire wall are in good shape.

Gauges are not working, unknown mileage. Original motor and tranny.

    4wd engages fine.

We are going on sunday to look at it. I am thinking 1500-1800 would be a fair price to pay him for it.

He said he wants it gone to get money for another project.

Sounds like you got a typical cruiser, rusty, carb, brakes etc. at least you can use all those things to your advantage in the bargaining process. Do yo have any pics you can post of it?

Pretty good looking rig, I got a feeling she's hiding quite a bit of rust through out the body panels and sills under the diamond plate. Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out. Pricing on these is tough to figure seems like supply and demand has a lot to do with it.

Ok....so I just got some pictures from the guy selling it....and its in pretty rough shape as far as Rust goes.

Its not too bad, depending on the frame...but its going to need a lot of sheet metal work....

I think in this condition its not worth anything over $1500...the dude wants $2200 OBO...but I dont think anyone will buy it for anything near that because of the rust.

Its definitely do-able...but not for a $2200 initial investment.

    Thats what I was thinking.

Well...lower than $2200. Every little bit saved is going to help. Especially since we are going to be doing all the work ourselves. That $500 that we save off the price can go toward sheet metal...you know?

Thats an awefully low price...has to be a starting bid. I have seen frame off restorations of these go for 15k+

    Yeah.

Some things are too far gone for restoration. You use 'em as they are until the wheels fall off.

Looks like this one's been in that mode for a while.

The cheapest way to get something in decent shape is to buy it that way already. Restoration parts are expensive and hard to find. Your time and aggravation are valued at zero.

A good restoration project doesn't have too many problems already, and most importantly, doesn't have a lot of rust damage.

We went to go look at it today...and the thing is pretty much gone...:(

Both rear quarters/fenders are GONE...covered by diamond plate. The frame had some rust holes, the entire floor board would need to be cut out and replaced, the guy had no idea if the 4wd worked and half of the controls/knobs were gone and the wiring was trashed.

It needed a whole new exhaust and whole new seats as the ones in it were pretty much gone.

The sad thing is it cranked like a beauty and purred like a kitten...poor yota...

I wouldn't be able to give the dude more than $1000 for it the way it sits, and I would probably only be able to put enough in it to make it a swamp buggy.
