Fuckers stole my HU. I think the thing that pisses me off the most is that they broke my window and dented the door in the process... but the door was unlocked. Stupid shitheads didn't take anything but the HU. Good thing I just installed my new seat covers... makes vacuuming the glass easier.

wtf? What a jerk! Who gives a damn about the headunit, if they were too blind to see that the door was open then they should be shot. I mean what kind of an asshole doesn't check to see if the door was unlocked when they're breaking in? I'm really sorry they did that to the RT (one of my fav models) but some people should just be shot. Hope all turns out well though!

I was 150 yards from the truck when it happened too. It was outside on the street next to the park where I was watching a rugby match. I can only imagine what I would have done if I would have seen it happening.

    It was pretty sucky.

There are a couple rugby teams around Dallas, and since I used to play in college I was thinking about trying out for this team near me.

    It's a pioneer AVH-4000DVD.

I'm considering an alarm now. I'm annoyed that they dented the door and chipped the paint with the screwdriver.

Sorry to hear that.. I added an alarm. Hopefully, it will deter jerks like that. I also added the stereo equipment to my car insurance.

I've got my equipment on my insurance, but it isn't really worth filing a claim for the HU.

Sorry to hear about your loss Sooner. :(
BTW, if some crackhead offers you a piece of car audio gear with cut wires hanging off of it, instead of getting all excited thinking you're getting a really great deal think about the fact that it was probably stolen from a hardworking person such as sooner and don't buy it!

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm wondering, how do they take the stereo out? I have a dvd head unit in my taco and its bolted in with 4 bolts. did the guy unbolt it?

That sucks man! I had a crackhead in Toledo steal my HU. It was an older Pioneer Premier and they used a crow bar to break the window. I later found out there is a large contingent of bums living close to that area.

They also got my wallet and spent $970 on my cc at a Piercing Pagoda (cheap jewelry hut) in the Toledo Mall. You would think the sales rep would find it fishy that a bum was using a credit card to purchase jewelry from a store where the most expensive thing is $100. I can see it now..."I'll take everything in this showcase, just put on my card". They emptied my coin tray but missed my 100 book of CD's sitting on the floor in the back.

Just to be dicks, they hit the rear quarter panel with curved end of the crowbar. Cops "looked into it" but never found him.

Used a screw driver to pop the glass, then broke the trim piece and just pulled it straight out. At least they were polite enough to not screw up the wiring harnesses or other wires.
