I know, that's why I posted the idea on the first page. I guess these guys are going to make me buy the snorkel and install one to prove it

Looks like they have a 7" with 3" inlet and 10" with 3" or 3.75" inlet as well. I think I may pick one of these up I like this style of prefilter they seem to work well on all our tractors and trucks that have them. I think I will make some calls this morning to check on them.

 

Called Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters he is going to double check it before he sends it out but said it should work. I'll post up in a few days when it shows up.

 

Kurt just gave me a call back there is a mod to make it all work. The opening is a 3" on the prefilter and the Tacoma snorkel is a 3 1/2" opening so you have to cut a couple of slits in the body and fit the prefilter inside the snorkel body.

 

I picked up my snorkel used. The guy had installed one of these... Same thing from rockyroads. Im going to be putting 2 small peices on the sides to keep those 2 flappers in place

 

I had a similar idea... actually working on it as we speak...... breathable material with an elastic stitched in....... just working on it ...and Velcro might work better

Based on your past suggestions, I'd imagine R&D for this new idea would be rather interesting!

 

Oops when I said fatbobs I meant the rockyroads cover. They are by Outerwears... they make all sorts of air box covers for 4-wheeler's and stuff. Google em, lots of reviews

 

Did you see the part of that link that said the prefilter should only be used in extreme dust situations and at speeds under 80 kph (about 50 MPH)?
