1st gens are not eyelett to center config'd, they're offset to center meaning measuring from center pin to eyeletts arent going to be equal distance = longer spring to the rear shackle, shorter to front....;)

Well Napa screwed up the bolts that I ordered from them. When I went to pick them up on Saturday they had a box of M10x1.5 x 100. So I did some more searching around town and cannot find the right size bolt in the 10.9 strength. So I bought some regular 8.8 strength bolts of the right size to finish the install. I am going to call around today and see if I can have a dealership send me a set of the correct nuts and bolts. Hopefully I will have them sometime this week!
So instead of working on the Tacoma this weekend, I went camping, shooting guns, and snowboarding!:D

Its extemely common for the forward sping bolts to be seized when changing leaf springs, requiring them to be cut in order to remove the springs. IMO, it should be looked at the same was as ubolts. You usually use new ubolts when replacing springs, you should just plan on doing the same with those forward spring bolts, at least when you're replacing stock 15 year old springs.

You could have just ordered the bolts from Toyota and you know you would have gotten the correct ones.

I was going to order them from Toyota, but the nearest dealership is 2 hours away from my place. So I tried to order them from the local Napa instead. I just called a dealership in Denver and they are shipping me 2 sets of nuts, washers and bolts for the forward leaf spring bolts. Hopefully i will have them on Wednesday or Thursday. The total with shipping was $41? I wish I had know these have had to be cut off so much in the past. Since my truck is a CO truck and there isn't much rust, I figured I would be able to get them off. Had I know otherwise I would have ordered them ahead of time. I wish Wheeler's included these bolts in their OME kit!

Does anyone know if it would be easy install some temporary bolts in the forward leaf spring position and just change out that bolt later when I receive the correct ones from Toyota?
I bought some 8.8 strength bolts the other day that are the same size as the factory one. The only reason I would do this is to get some stuff situated in my garage before some friends come and visit this week. And return some tools I borrowed from a friend.

Would there be too much flex in the leaf spring to just simply change the bolt out? Could I just use a bottle jack to hold the leaf in place and change the bolt out?

Well I finished the lift install. The only thing left to do is change out the forward leaf spring bolts when the arrive later this week and change out the rear brake line with the extended one before I do any wheeling!
