    There used to be an old chain driven dirt bike. It had big ol' fat tires and was just a tank. It's called a Rocon or Rocon (sp?). It's a slow crawler but would get you through damn near anything. The wheels themselves were hollow so you could put water or fuel in them for long trips.

    I think it was around 10 years ago, Yamaha was messing with a 2wd prototype that I'm not sure ever made it into production. It had a hydraulic pump driving the front tire. It was on the YZ250 platform I believe. I read about it and that was the last time I ever saw it.

    Whoa... that's the exact same set-up I saw on a Yamaha a few years before that article was written. It was either the end of the 90's or the very beginning of the 2000. Crazy!

    I think I remember reading about that too. In Dirt Bike magazine maybe? I had a subscription to that for a long time in the late 90's through early 2000's

    Yeah, I think I was subscribed to Dirt Rider or something along those lines. I've since moved on to street bikes :D
